Y’all…HOW is it September already!! AH! Seriously…nuts! But I have to say I’m finally pretty excited for this month and fall in general. Change is not my fav, and I’m sure many of you would give me a total “amen” on that one. And although the changes we’ve made have been good changes, total answered prayers…it’s still taken me a few good ugly cries to get on a solid footing with all the change! And there’s even more to come, but I do finally feel I’m in a good place to handle it thankfully.
So without further ado…September goals! Since I didn’t really set goals for August, as I wrote about here – we’ll hope right in. And this month I’m going to break it down a little further and actually kinda show you my full Powersheets prep/messy system! Minus the spreadsheets I normally use…not sure I can handle a FULL on nerdy system like I normally use just yet! ha! I’m sort of “easing” myself into some new systems and habits, which is so essential with my history of depression & anxiety…especially when those seasons have almost always been triggered by big changes. A little love note if you feel the same, give yourself some grace and definitely implement some structure, a simple daily schedule, a small morning routine, whatever you can do, and push yourself a little bit but not TOO much!! Okay, enough of that side love note…I’ll be sharing more of my story with all that later on and some more tips in upcoming Mindset Monday’s!
-Complete the 30 day prayer challenge, encourage others in the group (click here if you’d like to join us! Plenty of time left to see what cool things God can do!) and write down all the miracles & answered prayers, even tiny ones!
-Schedule out tests this month or next (long story here, but basically I have to take a few tests ASAP, one of which is hopefully a certified personal trainer exam! BIG goal happening there…it’s been on my list for years and I’ve never touched it until now!)
-Redo Ideal Schedule & routines (actually write them out/print them and post them around the house!)
-Rewrite goals & vision docs (additions to my powersheets, something E and I worked on together this summer, which was amazing! Highly recommend for my marriage & engaged friends!)
-Launch at least one new freebie
-Finish Heart Made Whole book & start one more by the EOM (any suggestions on the next faith based book or study I should do?!)
-Continue plugging away at the Bible read through, both audio on the Bible app & with my journaling Bible!
-Get good at throwing the “little stones” each day (aka using a Pomodoro timer or something similar to plug away at my big goals & vision! See mor of this topic on my Facebook Live video from yesterday!)
-Work on my depression story series & the “out of the wilderness” series (which may honestly become a book by the time I’m done with it…gulp!)
-Date night/day (side note: I know we don’t have kids yet, so this technically should be easy to do, but we haven’t been great at being intentional with it over the last few years so it’s important to actually PLAN something a little outside of the norm, tuck our tech away & NOT work 24/7!!)
-Me Mondays (basically since I truly felt a depressive season coming on recently, I’m taking the next few Mondays “semi-off” to get a message, or take a long nap, watch a movie in the middle of the day or read on the deck for a few hours and get work done OFF schedule, but still get some done, just prioritizing self care over it for one day. Bascially I’ve had this really weird thing where I’ve slept HORRIBLY every single Sunday night ALL summer long and Monday’s have been torture…even though I LOVE my work. So I truly am weirded out by this pattern, so I’m attacking it head on this month!)
-Blog at least once
-Only check my Gmail on M/W/F & clean it out each time (no inbox zero for me usually, but just clean out the junk, file stuff, label it and not leave junk mail sitting there for weeks! ha! #guilty)
-At least one “stone” for each project/income stream each week! (aka, at least one 25-30 minute block of time spent on it. Every little bit counts! I’m also experimenting with exactly what time blocks I’ll be using consistently, and yes, I’ll be writing a blog post on it soon! ha!)
-Speak life into E (I’m just trying to be really intentional about building E up with my words every day, it’s that whole “love tank” principle talked about in John Gottman’s books and the Love Language books….I’m not super great at it, sadly. And yes, I am a psych nerd, come look at my bookshelf in my office! haha!)
-Prayer & Bible reading (listening counts too!)
-2-3 Q’s of Water (mason jars help me SO much with water intake!)
–Instagram post & actually engaging with at least 5-10 comments on others posts each day! (intentional social media instead of just scrolling…SO hard! But worth it!)
