Y’all! It’s almost Christmas AND 2017! WHERE did this year go?! I mean…I’m glad its over because #reallife …but still?! I literally have no idea where the year went! BUT I’ve been doing a lot of work over the last few weeks to wrap up this year well and to prepare for an amazing 2017, so I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things to help you prep for 2017 too! Enjoy!
#1 – My Skillshare classes (plus thousands more too, for only 99 cents for your first 3 months!)
I’ve spent SO much time creating these and investing in my students over the last few months! It’s been SO much fun! If you’ve missed any of the classes so far, here are the links.
- Etsy Class – Intro
- Etsy Class – Advanced Tips
- Virtual Assistant Business Class (includes tips on freelance design/writing too!)
- Automation Tips for Biz & Life – (aka Less Stress! Who doesn’t need that in 2017!)
- Simplifying Business Class (super important y’all!)
#2 – Free Yoga group, January 2nd-5th
Y’all…I decided to try a 3 week yoga workout program over my Christmas “workcation” time because #1 – I keep spraining my wrist during workouts and want to strengthen it. #2 – I keep hurting my back/shoulder from all the computer work I do with terrible posture…and #3 – I’ve got some “ick” to work through around how crappy 2016 has been (anyone else?!) and I do NOT want to bring that into 2017 with me! And I never fail to bawl my little eyes out and have a very intense prayer session after every holy yoga class I’ve ever done so I figured it would definitely help me process this year in a healthy way – literally healthy because yoga helps me to strengthen without straining and spiritually healthy because I get to spend a solid 30 minutes crying out to God!
I am a week and a half in and going strong! Well…I’m not going to lie, I’ve wanted to quit a few times. BUT I’ve found something really cool happening…I get now that in my business, and in most aspects of my life, I’ve very much been “straining” and “striving”! Just like in yoga when I tense up my neck or shoulders and end up worse off then when I started class…it’s the same with life & business. The more I strain or strive, the more of a mess I make! (haha, #reallifeguys) But if I surrender (my word for 2017) and just stay as strong as I can in the pose and do what I can with it, even if it’s heavily modified and I don’t feel very “fit” or “impressive” with it…I end up with better strength and flexibility in the long run. And I’m going to work on taking that habit off my yoga mat in 2017! Want to join us? (it’s free!)
#3 – Evernote to organize ALL the things!
Hubs and I actually have shared grocery lists now…which has been a game changer! (Sadly! haha!) No more 40 trips to Target for little things each week! (ps. I’ll be sharing my monthly shopping organization system soon!)
#4 – This Book to work on your heart stuff
I am a HUGE believer in doing the “inner work” I know it sounds kinda “woo woo” or weird, but it’s so freaking necessary! I have experienced SUCH heartache over the years from myself and other loved ones not working through things in safe and effective ways… and I’ll be honest, the #1 way to “work” on things is to take them to Jesus. I know that may ruffle some feathers…and for YEARS I didn’t really believe that that was true…I spent years trying a zillion things like self help books, therapy, etc. Did those help? Yes! Some! But never fully, but taking my heart issues and wounds to Jesus really really worked!! I cannot stress this enough and I’ll keep ranting and adding in way too many exclamation point to this if I don’t stop now…but I’ll just say that Christa shares her story and some tips that really, really have been a game changer for me personally, and others I’ve shared the book with! So give it a try.
#5 – This Devotional to get a little more peace in your life!
I’ve just purchased this on the recommendation of Jess Connolly but I’m loving it so far! I’m excited to make this a daily habit in 2017…and I’m also really excited to have this on the family coffee table for years to come, I truly believe its THAT type of book/devotional! And y’all…I’m SO nerdy about both history and languages so this is right up my alley! (ps, neither of these amazon links get me any sort of moola! Just an fyi, but the Evernote one is my referral link but it just means I get a few extra gigs each month, nothing fancy! And it won’t change your account sign ups or anything!)
with love & blessings and a MERRY Christmas!!
